Info Post
Five thousand delegates of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP gathered in Abuja for the primaries.

The delegates of Africa' most populous nation voted overwhelmingly for President Goodluck Jonathan.
He defeated his main rival former vice president Atiku Abubakar with a wide margin, scoring 2736 votes compared to Mr Atiku's 805 votes.
Jonathan is from the Niger Delta in the Christian dominated south.
He, then the vice president, inherited the presidency when President Umaru Yar Adua, a northerner, died during his second term last year.
The PDP has a tradition of alternating power between the north and the south every two terms.
However, the death of Mr. Yar Adua affected this arrangement and Jonathan took over as president.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and some Northern Nigerian powerbrokers have insisted that the zoning arrangement of alternating power between the North and South must be respected.
The winner of this primary election, incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan will have to face Presidential contestants from other opposition political parties in the April general elections.
According to experts Mr. Jonathan will also have to work at unifying the ruling party.
